Older job seekers and employers working together
Tasmanians have the right to work for as long as they are able and willing. Work45+ aims to help this happen.
Work45+ has been created in consultation with older jobs seekers, employers and job service providers. It has the information they believe will help more older job seekers be employed and valued. It’s for anyone aged over 45 looking for work by choice or necessity, and employers looking for staff.
Evidence shows that people start experiencing barriers to work from the age of 45. For this reason Work45+ also includes a section on age equality.
Work45+ was launched by Tasmania’s Deputy Premier, Jeremy Rockliff, Minister for Community Development and Minister for Education and Training, on Monday 25 May 2020. His video highlights the importance of the website in the COVID-19 recovery. It’s followed by a video from COTA Tasmania’s CEO, Sue Leitch, who explains how job seekers and employers shared their experiences in a spirit of goodwill, for the benefit of both. You can find more information about how the site was created at “Background to Work45+“.
