Federal Budget measures favour young job seekers, but it’s important to know there is also substantial assistance out there for employing eligible mature-aged people. “Restart” is a financial incentive of up to $10,000 to encourage businesses to hire and retain people aged 50 and over. It’s been around since well before this year’s Budget. Payments are made by employment services providers to businesses over six months. Employers can negotiate how often they receive the payments. Information about this and other incentives to employ mature workers are available here.
