Tasmanian industry projections

Before the coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency, the Australian Government calculated which Tasmanian industries were expected to grow most strongly between 2019 and 2024.1 We make this information available in case it is of interest, divided up by region. However, the Government advises that it must be used and interpreted with extreme caution, because it is still uncertain what economic changes will result from the impact of the emergency.

Note: Industry categories
  • Data used to predict industry growth come from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). The ABS groups industries differently from the way the Tasmanian Government groups them. The industries targeted by the Tasmanian Government for training and workforce development (see “The Tasmanian jobs market“) don’t always exactly match related ABS industry sectors. However, there is overlap.
